Plek'd for precision playability
This Gibson Les Paul Studio 2016 HP feels fast and precise, thanks in large part to Plek processing. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you're likely to own. Each note rings loud and clear, and the fret edges feel smooth as silk.
Slim neck profile with wider Soloist neck width
The Gibson Les Paul Studio 2016 HP sports a fast, wide neck with a slim profile, perfect for modern players who push the speed limit. The wider Soloist neck width gives you more room for big bends and tapping than the traditional LP neck width. It's a great balance for players who love Les Paul tone but prefer a faster, thinner neck.
Pickups deliver true Les Paul sound - and then some
The Les Paul Studio 2016 HP features 490R (rhythm) and 498T (treble) pickups. These Modern Classic pickups feature tonal characteristics similar to the '57 Classic but deliver a slight increase in the upper mids, for a more contemporary humbucking sound. And there's more! The volume knobs feature a push-pull configuration that allows you to choose between classic humbucking tones and snappy single-coil sounds. Sweetwater can confirm this Les Paul has the classic sounds you want and expect from a Gibson.
Dip switches give you access to over 100 tonal options
The Gibson HPs are some of the most sonically versatile electric guitars Gibson has ever offered. The tone and volume controls on the Les Paul Studio 2016 HP are a push-pull design, and five internal dip switches determine how these controls work. By setting these dip switches to your preference you can access coil-splits and coil-taps, a highpass filter for each pickup, determine if you want the pickups to be in or out of phase, and even engage a transient supression circuit for avoiding unwanted output peaks when recording direct.
