The Firebird Studio is a classic looking Firebird with a few small changes, most notably the full size humbucker pickups. It has a 3-piece mahogany body and set neck to increase the sustain that you can achieve. And with 22 frets, you can get all the way up the neck.
Normally, mini humbuckers are found on a Firebird, but the studio has 496R and 500T pickups which are medium output humbuckers that'll clean up beautifully when using the volume control. They are punchy and full-bodied with a lot of mid-range honk.
Slim taper neck
The Slim taper neck is comfortable in the hand without being too flat or too round either. The fret edges are rolled on all of the new Gibson 2017 models which makes them feel played in, straight out of the box and this is something normally found on Gibson Custom shop models.
